How does an eSIM work?

An eSIM is a built-in, digital version of a SIM card that functions the same way as a physical one—it securely identifies your device and links it to a mobile network. In most cases, you can access 4G or 5G speeds, although your actual coverage will depend on the network provider, your location, and whether your device supports those bands.

Unlike traditional SIM cards, an eSIM can be activated and reprogrammed remotely, letting you store and switch between multiple eSIM profiles on the same device.

When you purchase an eSIM plan, you’ll select the country where you need service and the amount of data you want. That total data allowance will be available for the full duration of the plan—it won’t reset each day.
